Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag, is a coastal port city located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Situated on the eastern shore of India, it is often called "The Jewel of the East Coast" and the "City of Destiny". Vizag is home to India's oldest shipyard, the Visakhapatnam Port (one of India's largest cargo-handling ports), and serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy.
