About Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag, is a coastal port city located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Situated on the eastern shore of India, it is often called "The Jewel of the East Coast" and the "City of Destiny". The city is known for its picturesque beaches, serene landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and rapidly growing industrial and IT sectors.
Vizag is home to India's oldest shipyard, the Visakhapatnam Port (one of India's largest cargo-handling ports), and serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. The city has emerged as a major hub for industries including steel, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, and information technology.
